To create these images, I have taken very small fragments of my late granny’s frequently illegible handwriting, and copied them hundreds of times to create a pattern reminiscent of a textile. I worked on A3 tracing paper folded in half, writing in pencil onto one side and then tracing my writing from the other side with a blunt marker pen. I then sewed up the three open sides to create an inaccessible between space.
