Nicholas James Melville was awarded an English Literature (Creative Writing) PhD from the University of Glasgow in May this year . Not long after, nick-e was a tutor in creative writing at the Scottish Universities' International Summer School. Three of his students wrote 'Nicky is the best!' on their feedback forms, the others were equally effusive, but used different words. This poem was composed for and first performed at the symposium 'Casting the Runes: The Future of Higher Education,' Glasgow, June 2018. The font of the poem is 'inherit.'
