Khairani Barokka is a writer, poet, artist, and PhD by practice researcher at Goldsmiths. Working, teaching, and published internationally, she's the creator of solo poetry/art show Eve and Mary Are Having Coffee, which has been performed at Edinburgh Fringe and elsewhere, has presented work in nine countries, and received six residencies, including the first Vermont Studio Center writers' residency held by an Indonesian, and Emerging Writers' Festival's Inaugural International Writers' Residency. In 2014, UNFPA recognized her as one of Indonesia's "Inspirational Young Leaders Driving Social Change" for her work in accessible, inclusive arts (as a disabled activist herself). Co-editor with Ng Yi-Sheng of HEAT: An Anthology of Southeast Asian Urban Writing (Buku Fixi Publishing 2016), her first book as sole author and illustrator, Indigenous Species, is out with Tilted Axis Press in November 2016. www.khairanibarokka.com / @mailbykite
